Welcome! Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) works to facilitate the emotional, relational, and academic development and success of enrolled students by providing culturally sensitive clinical services, outreach, consultation, and assistance with referrals.
NEW: TimelyCare/CAPS Partnership
Starting 10/4, all UVA students who pay the comprehensive health fee will have free access to telehealth counseling services through a UVA CAPS and TimelyCare Partnership. Resources for students include 12 free, scheduled telehealth counseling visits with a licensed mental health provider, an on-demand service called TalkNow, which allows students to connect with a mental health professional any time of day, either by phone or video, and psychiatric care and management.

To schedule your initial phone assessment online, visit our Getting Started page. If you have questions or prefer to schedule your initial assessment over the phone, call (434) 243-5150.
- Please note that only Initial Phone Assessments can be scheduled online. To schedule, reschedule or cancel all other CAPS appointments, please call 434-243-5150 or contact your CAPS provider directly.
- CAPS is always available after-hours for emergencies. If you are in crisis and need to talk to someone immediately, call (434) 243-5150. For life-threatening emergencies, please call 911.
