Alex Geneser Patel, earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology at Denison University. She went on to earn her master’s and doctoral degrees at the Institute of Graduate Clinical Psychology at Widener University. Her training is in clinical psychology, with a specialization in neuropsychology. She came to Charlottesville in 2013 for her post-doctoral fellowship in UVA’s Department of Neurology.

Alex joined the SDAC team in 2015, serving as one of our two psychologists. She works with students with disabilities related to cognitive and/or mental health difficulties such as ADHD, learning disorders, concussions, depression, and anxiety.  She currently serves as our primary liaison for students with disabilities in UVA’s School of Law.
