Elaine Bailey (she/her) first joined the Student Health and Wellness team in 2013 as a psychologist in Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). In 2015, she transitioned over to SDAC, where she currently serves as an Assistant Director. She loves working with students in many different roles, whether as an SDAC Advisor, a Chapter Mentor for the Eye to Eye mentoring program, or a co-facilitator of Hoos Focused, a group supporting students with attention/concentration issues. She is also proud to serve as a fellow for UVA’s International Residential College.

Before her time in SHW, she worked in UVA’s Health System where she completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Behavioral Medicine Center and later stayed on as an attending psychologist in the Department of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Sciences.

Dr. Bailey earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Arizona where she developed her specialty in behavioral sleep medicine.
