Karen James joined Student Health and Wellness in March of 2017 and serves as the Insurance and Billing Coordinator.  She provides insurance and billing support for students, staff, and parents related to insurance verification questions, claims processing, billing questions, and payment processing.

Prior to returning to UVA, Karen worked for Sentara Martha Jefferson for over 17 years in the central billing office as an insurance/charge clerk. Karen also worked at UVA Health as a program support technician/clinic coordinator for 10 years.
