Kelly Garrett (she/her) joined the Division of Student Affairs in November 2022 as an Assistant Dean for Care and Support Services and the embedded CASS Dean in the School of Engineering and Applies Sciences (SEAS).  Kelly provides general student support and crisis response during the day and after-hours in the Dean on Call rotation to students across grounds, with a primary focus of working with students in SEAS.

Before working at UVA Kelly served as the inaugural Director of the LGBTQ Center at Brown University for eighteen years.  She received a B.A. in Communications (1991) and an M.Ed. in Social Justice Education (1997) from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and has worked in Student Affairs for over thirty years. In 2022 Kelly received a certificate in Leadership and Performance Coaching from Brown University.
