Bio

Kostas joined the Department of Student Health and Wellness as an LSP/Systems Engineer in 2022. His responsibilities encompass ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of information systems supporting core SHW functions. This includes tasks such as developing, monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing software and associated hardware and operating systems.

Kostas specializes in conducting functional and empirical analysis for system design, development, and implementation, with a focus on system integration and security planning and implementation. Additionally, he actively contributes to problem-solving approaches, anticipates issues, and supports senior staff. Kostas also plays a role in providing training, acting as a resource, and offering guidance on non-routine problems, processes, and policies. His interactions extend to team members, end users, and collaboration with external vendors or service providers.

Before his tenure at the Department of Student Health and Wellness, Kostas worked at UVA ITS as an LSP/Systems Administrator and the School of Medicine IT Department as an LSP. During this time, he received recognition with a UVA award for excellent customer service. Prior to his UVA tenure, Kostas curated a remarkable IT career spanning 32 years in the private sector, garnering accolades and distinctions in various roles and capacities.
