Leann has worked for UVA since 2007, and has worked in Student Health since 2020.  She came to UVA following  9 years on active duty as a Medical Service Corp Officer in the U.S. Army.  She considers herself lucky to have been stationed in Germany for 3 years, where she traveled between Germany, Belgium and Italy, managing clinical laboratories.  Leann earned her undergraduate degree in Biology at Slippery Rock University and her Masters Degree in Administration at Central Michigan University.  Leann holds certifications in Medical Technology (ASCP), Project Management (PMP),  and Change Management (PROSCI).  Her responsibilities at Student Health include compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements, infection control, and emergency preparedness.

In her time off, Leann enjoys spending time with her husband, taking care of her backyard farm, and cheering for the  Pittsburgh Steelers.
