Sophie joined the Gordie Center in June 2023 as a Graduate Assistant and has since flourished into the role of APPLE Assistant. With a multifaceted skill set and a passion for advancing public health initiatives, including hazing and substance misuse prevention, Sophie assists in the seamless execution of our APPLE Training Institute Conferences.

Sophie's responsibilities encompass a wide array of essential tasks, ranging from app development and data analysis to graphic and website design. Her meticulous attention to detail ensures the smooth execution of various aspects of the APPLE Training Institute, contributing to its success behind the scenes.

Sophie earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a major in Management and Society and a minor in Women and Gender Studies. Building on this foundation, Sophie pursued her passion for public health and earned a Master of Public Health Degree from the University of Virginia in 2023.
